Blog Explosion!

I've been exploring a lot of the different blogger communities and blog directories lately, and one has really stood out. I REALLY like blog explosion! It's so much fun! It kind of reminds me of those paid to click advertising programs where you get paid around .01 to click on ad's for 30 seconds. Only with Blog Explosion you get "paid" in readers to your blog, and you get to read other people's blogs. If the blog isn't interesting you only have to wait 30 seconds, and then there is a new one to replace it! It's hours of time wasting fun :)

3 Column Blogger Template

So, I should have known better than to click on a link in a blog comment, but I did it anyways! I have been working on my blog for 8 hours and was tired, so I don't think I was thinking clearly! That and I haven't had as many people reading my blog until recently (been marketing it a lot more) and have only had nice people, no spam so far (well, mostly nice! ha)

Anyways, I almost lost everything but thankfully I remembered I did back up my blog! and I found this site which actually helped me to do the three column blog (took me a few tries, but don't give up, you'll figure it out if you really try!)
http://www.threecolumnblogger.com/2008/09/three-column-minima-layout-version.html

When in doubt, I usually find solutions quicker on my own than asking for help!

Hope this helps someone though! Be careful about downloading a non-blogger template, I think a lot of sites can give you a virus.

Biggest Bar night of the year

A few days ago I was reading Ageless Face, Ageless Mind: Erase Wrinkles and Rejuvenate the Brain by Nicholas MD Perricone, and it said that green barley drinks were good for hangovers! I don't have the book in front of me to get the page number because I'm not at home, so I might get that for my readers later. Don't quote me on the book, but I did google it and came up with some links that confirmed what I thought I read about Green Barley(check out http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/hangovers.shtml and go to where it says Barley Grass in the list of Cures) I just mentioned the book because I think it's worth reading and checking it out.And since last night was the biggest bar night of the year, some of you might be wishing you had some green barley now?! Now I know if you are a raw foodist or vegan you don't drink, but if you did last night, just a little help ;) I won't tell on you!! lol You can see the book here:
http://www.amazon.com/Ageless-Face-Mind-Wrinkles-Rejuvenate/dp/0345499360/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1227805097&sr=1-2

If you are wondering where to get Green Barley at, I like:

Maybe this is why St. Patricks Day has so many green beers and they like the color Green so much? Hmm... wrong Holiday though, today is Thanksgiving :)

Since most of you probably can't just go out to the store and get Barley Grass today...another helpful tip is that Apple's are good for lung health. So, if you were in a place with a lot of cigarette smoke last night, make sure to have an extra Apple today! No, I didn't say Apple PIE! :)

Black Friday

I just found out today that the meaning of the term "Black Friday" originated, "in Philadelphia in reference to the heavy traffic on that day. More recently, merchants and the media have used it instead to refer to the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(shopping))

Also, if you are in Detroit this Friday, Detroit Evolution will have raw food on Friday. According to their website:
"If you are going to shop this Friday, please consider our request to stay away from the big chains and head out in support of small independent local businesses. Detroit has a great many 'mom & pop shops' that would benefit from your attention in these tightening times. Please come down to the Lab for lunch and spend the day voting with your dollars. We will be happy to send you to all the special and unique places we support when we can't make it ourselves or simply do without!"
More details can be found at: http://detroitevolution.com/fridaymenu.html

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's that time of year again where we all get ready to gather around the table to stuff our faces with food-whether raw or not! It can be a time where it's easy to get off track on your goals-whether nutritional, exercising, or whatever it is you have been trying to do. I like to say, oh if I cheat a bit during the holidays I'll be ok, but we all know that isn't true, don't we? If you get off track a little now, you will undo a lot of your hard work! The problem I have is family and friends being unsupportive. I'm not talking about people who are ALWAYS negative or just dislike you out of say, jealousy, and will say ignorant things like,"Oh you work out six days a week and take supplements so you must have an eating disorder."(which by the way, I don't-they are FOOD with a lot of antioxidants, not vitamins you buy in the store....but whatever.) I'm talking about people who have opinions that actually matter to you!

While a raw food diet can be harmful if done incorrectly (can't everything?) so can eating regular, processed American favorites! You wouldn't say to someone at Thanksgiving,"Don't eat that food because it will give you a heart attack!" (although some I'm sure might! ha) So don't say to your fellow raw foodist, vegetarian or someone with different belief's on ANYTHING really: "Oh, you need to eat more. It's the holidays!" Or any other opinion that will make people feel bad or uncomfortable. Let's face it, it's not about concern during the holidays, it's about them being DIFFERENT and making you uncomfortable. It's a time to be thankful, not judgemental. Be happy they even chose to be with you on that day-or they may not in the future if they are serious about their eating habits!

And if you feel like you don't have something to be thankful this year, this site is kind of fun:

As November comes to an end, I just wanted to add that it's also Diabetes awareness month. For NATURAL cures of diabetes that don't get as much media attention (yet!), I recommend these excellent books. (Many cases of diabetes have been supposedly cured through raw food diets):
Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days

There Is a Cure for Diabetes: The Tree of Life 21-Day+Program

Happy Thanksgiving!!! :)

Raw food recipe book!

I took the raw food class from Beth Wilke awhile back, and she was very informative! She now has a new raw food recipe book, and a really great website (not sure if it's new, but I just found out about the website)

Check it out here, and if you haven't taken a class yet, I recommend it!

Beauty is from the inside...

...I really do believe that! I also believe what you eat is far more important than any makeup or products you can put on your face! So, this weekend I wanted to get some spa treatments. I felt like spoiling myself, but didn't want to spend the money when I really think most of that stuff is psychological anyways-it makes you feel good to be pampered, so you look better! Anyways, I looked around at what I had already, and to my surprise, found a lot of common things can be used for face masks! I had a tomato and potato (wasn't trying to rhyme there lol) that were sitting around, and I'm pretty sure no one was going to eat them soon-did you know they can be used for face masks? :) I never would have thought a tomato would be good for your skin, but why not?
http://www.grouprecipes.com/4485/tomato-face-mask.html

Here is a recipe for one using potatos:
Mask 2. For Potato face pack you will need One teaspoon of potato juice and One teaspoon of multani mitti. Blend both the ingredients together and apply on the face. Leave it until it dries and wash off with lukewarm water.

I also used coconut as a hair conditioner, and maluka honey for a face mask! I LOVE how coconut smells-makes a great body lotion too!

My hair and skin felt amazing, all while using natural products I already had around the house!

I have also been doing dry skin brushing every day for two months, and my skin feels like velvet! If you can find two extra minutes to your morning routine, you have to try dry skin brushing!!

Energy Muse Jewelry

I completely forgot I was an affiliate for Energy Muse Jewelry-perhaps I've been wanting to keep this secret to myself ;) Hey, even the celebrities love this jewelry, so it's not just me! Definitely a wonderful indulgence, I don't regret buying the bracelets. Although, I'd really like a necklace too! They would make a really good present for the holidays coming up also! I really like the care that is put in each product-each bracelet came in a nicely wrapped box with complete care instructions and information on all of the jewels used in the bracelets. You just have to own one yourself to really know what I mean! They are very beautiful and unique.

You know you are a raw foodist when....

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/09/you-know-you-are-a-raw-foodist-when/

Check out that link. I may have posted it before, but I think it's really funny! Anyone want to add their own observations about knowing when you are a raw foodist?

Soo, I haven't been updating the site much. I guess I have just been busy with other things! I was studying for a very difficult exam that many people don't pass on the first try, but I passed! So, I think the extra studying and sacrifices was worth it! I won't say what it is, because I don't want any negative energy on it to jinx it! lol

To update, I didn't do the marathon. It turns out it was all overbooked anyways, so I wouldn't have been able to register. I have, however, been busy working out six days a week and have been progressing losing one pound a week (which I've been told is the safest way to lose weight) I'm not sure if all the supplements have been helping BUT I can say it seems to help my reasoning skills. I am a bit of an airhead, but my ability to comprehend complex ideas is off the charts lately! My long-term memory is better also. I guess all the nutrients have been helping, although not in the way I had expected.

I'm not really on a raw food diet at the moment because of all my stress, but I'm still eating pretty healthy and I feel pretty good. It's hard to eat raw food when you are exercising a ton....anybody have any tips?? I would love to hear them!
