Raw food recipe book!

I took the raw food class from Beth Wilke awhile back, and she was very informative! She now has a new raw food recipe book, and a really great website (not sure if it's new, but I just found out about the website)

Check it out here, and if you haven't taken a class yet, I recommend it!

Beauty is from the inside...

...I really do believe that! I also believe what you eat is far more important than any makeup or products you can put on your face! So, this weekend I wanted to get some spa treatments. I felt like spoiling myself, but didn't want to spend the money when I really think most of that stuff is psychological anyways-it makes you feel good to be pampered, so you look better! Anyways, I looked around at what I had already, and to my surprise, found a lot of common things can be used for face masks! I had a tomato and potato (wasn't trying to rhyme there lol) that were sitting around, and I'm pretty sure no one was going to eat them soon-did you know they can be used for face masks? :) I never would have thought a tomato would be good for your skin, but why not?

Here is a recipe for one using potatos:
Mask 2. For Potato face pack you will need One teaspoon of potato juice and One teaspoon of multani mitti. Blend both the ingredients together and apply on the face. Leave it until it dries and wash off with lukewarm water.

I also used coconut as a hair conditioner, and maluka honey for a face mask! I LOVE how coconut smells-makes a great body lotion too!

My hair and skin felt amazing, all while using natural products I already had around the house!

I have also been doing dry skin brushing every day for two months, and my skin feels like velvet! If you can find two extra minutes to your morning routine, you have to try dry skin brushing!!

Energy Muse Jewelry

I completely forgot I was an affiliate for Energy Muse Jewelry-perhaps I've been wanting to keep this secret to myself ;) Hey, even the celebrities love this jewelry, so it's not just me! Definitely a wonderful indulgence, I don't regret buying the bracelets. Although, I'd really like a necklace too! They would make a really good present for the holidays coming up also! I really like the care that is put in each product-each bracelet came in a nicely wrapped box with complete care instructions and information on all of the jewels used in the bracelets. You just have to own one yourself to really know what I mean! They are very beautiful and unique.

You know you are a raw foodist when....

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/09/you-know-you-are-a-raw-foodist-when/

Check out that link. I may have posted it before, but I think it's really funny! Anyone want to add their own observations about knowing when you are a raw foodist?

Soo, I haven't been updating the site much. I guess I have just been busy with other things! I was studying for a very difficult exam that many people don't pass on the first try, but I passed! So, I think the extra studying and sacrifices was worth it! I won't say what it is, because I don't want any negative energy on it to jinx it! lol

To update, I didn't do the marathon. It turns out it was all overbooked anyways, so I wouldn't have been able to register. I have, however, been busy working out six days a week and have been progressing losing one pound a week (which I've been told is the safest way to lose weight) I'm not sure if all the supplements have been helping BUT I can say it seems to help my reasoning skills. I am a bit of an airhead, but my ability to comprehend complex ideas is off the charts lately! My long-term memory is better also. I guess all the nutrients have been helping, although not in the way I had expected.

I'm not really on a raw food diet at the moment because of all my stress, but I'm still eating pretty healthy and I feel pretty good. It's hard to eat raw food when you are exercising a ton....anybody have any tips?? I would love to hear them!

Spotlight on: Inn Season Cafe

I read about Inn Season Cafe in the MSN news section as one of the healthiest restaurants in America, and thought I'd share! It's in Royal Oak. Not "raw food" but it has organic ingredients and vegetarian dishes!

Update!

Well, I haven't felt like blogging in awhile! I did find some raw food bar's at Zerbos which you can find here:
http://www.lydiasorganics.com/

The Treehouse in Farmington also has some good dehydrated raw food bars and cookies!

I'm officially one month 80% (give or take!) raw! I have had no food cravings or detox symptoms as far as missing pop or caffeine! I really think adding superfoods have helped with the detox as well.

I am not 100% just because I've been exercising so much, that it's hard to get as much raw food as I would need with my new calorie needs. BUT most people don't work out as much as I do, so I don't think eating 100% raw has to be difficult!

So, I'm just getting situated after the move and enjoying eating healthier and exercising more!

I'm thinking raw food events will be slowing down in the winter time, but I'll still try to update when I find new things out!
