World Without Cancer

A friend of mine has a beautiful little one year old girl who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer :( So, I had been researching about her particular cancer and came across a World Without Cancer's website. I wonder if it's true that eating the seeds of fruits (along with the fruit) can prevent and cure cancer? It wouldn't surprise me if the cure was THAT simple. I know my grandma and great uncle on my mom's side both have lived long, cancer free lives and they would eat all of the fruit-even the peel of oranges! (which I always found gross.) Whereas my mom had breast cancer, and ate a much more processed diet. Some people think the seeds are toxic, but others argue that when eaten with the fruit it's not anymore. It reminds me of eggs-when eaten in whole, not just, say, the yolk, but the whole egg-it's a perfect, complete food. So, is it the same with fruit? Should we be eating the whole fruit? While people are concerned it's toxic, I don't know of anybody personally who has died from eating the seeds, do you? I would think you would have to eat a LOT of them to get sick. Also, isn't chemotherapy extremely toxic? I would take the toxic seeds of fruit, as opposed to the toxic drug of the medical profession any day! At least with fruit it would probably be a toxin level that only goes after the bad cells. At least, that's my general intuition on the situation, although it is just that-a guess. What are your thoughts on this? Is it safe to eat the seeds of fruit? Would you consider doing that if you found out you had cancer?

Sorry to hear about your friend's daughter, I can't imagine how excruciatingly painful that would be. My best friend has breast cancer and we have spent a lot of time researching and discussing natural cures as well.

i'm sorry about your friend's daughter as well ... as far as i know, the seeds of fruit are safe to eat ... it wouldn't make much sense if they weren't ...

i think there's confusion because, for example, apricot pits (and even other seeds) contain a small amount of arsenic ... which is poison, but not in the amounts found in just one seed ... and really, if you look at the way an apricot seed is encased, nature is pretty much protecting us from its toxicity ... other seeds are much easier to eat ... and i'd have to say that those are safe to eat without reservation ...

btw, nice blog ... i'm in michigan (and mostly raw) as well :) ... do you do meetups?

Thanks Cheryl! Thankfully she is an amazing mother, and very positive and handling the situation very well! And Lisa, you are right, the seeds do have arsenic in them. There are some who believe that if you eat the seed with the whole fruit, that something about the fruit cancels out the toxicity then if you were to eat the seeds alone. Also, a few won't hurt you, but they are toxic in large amounts-which is what I would think someone with cancer would need to eat-moreso than somebody just eating a few seeds would have to worry about. So I was wondering if the amount eaten for cancer prevention or treatment is toxic. I don't think I specified that! But yeah, I have gone to a few meetups but not in awhile! They are a lot of fun though!
